RE: Rising of the Phoenix - Menu Song - Roanoke - 08-12-2010

Indeed, this has my vote for title song (and I will use it on at least one map I make Tongue )

Most recent version is set designed for looping, see LMMS project file for loop point reference.

Oh, div asked me to remix it in a slower more background form for mapping Roanoke. I'll start on that in about a week.

I finalized it. v3.0 is the last released version of this song, I was waiting on a sample to be licensed in GPL. Sandy Burnett was kind enough to release the sample for use. That was one sample I couldn't bear replacing. I will commence the map remix on Aug. 20th.

you could try a version without the melody, like the part from 1:16 to 1:40. i know many games where the menu music is more ambient-style, and i think its a good idea for a menu.

The less melodic and in-your-face version is more for the maps. The purpose of this song was to make people want to start Xonotic up. In the maps it can be distracting so the music is designed to be subtle but thematic. Nexuiz/Xonotic has a history of epic menu songs, as do many popular games(Halo for one. Big Grin ) If there is no intro, then the cool music has to be in the menu. In the case of BF2142, the cool music is in the intro, which still makes you want to play the game. That's the general idea.

History of Phoenix is not to find the strength to endure. Its Rocky. Good story, but another idea. History of Phoenix does not have a choice but to endure. Nothing, if she owed money from loan sharks.
