50% 1st place
40% 2nd place
10% judge's pick bonus
1 contestant:
A portion of contributed funds will be returned and the remainder will be rained on the only contestant.

Oh damn I kinda had may in the back of my head as deadline haha. I think I'm gonna go with what I already had: https://forums.xonotic.org/showthread.php?tid=8508&pid=86929#pid86929
I had some alternative Ideas in the making but had to wipe my computer and flash my motherboard because something told my bios, that frying my graphics card is a good idea. Positive thing is I had a backup graphics card bad thing is I had no data backups except uploaded stuff to here or discord.
EDIT BY MOD: I'm keeping the politics out of this thread

I'll see how many contestants will submit something tomorrow. If there's no one else, prepare to get rained on. I'll likely host another mapping contest later in the year and see if a longer mapping phase and additional pre-made assets will attract more participants.
This one was really meant to encourage new prototypes and designs over 'polished and textured' maps.

As nice it is of you to provide premade assets, they are no attracting factor to me. Because if I have an idea of a map I will do it my way with my stuff.
I wish we could try the stuff I mentioned in #3. To challenge mappers on taking a novel idea they got to wrap their head around while making a map. (Make the best single-room-dm-map/ slick-dm-map/ you name it... )
Another thing would be singleplayer levels and who makes the most enjoyable doom-styled level against monsters.
If you want to provide presets I'd suggest making a special area that everyone has to incorporate while being allowed to alter the look but not the geometry too much. (like the quad-room/ a room, where both the ctf flags are/...)
But I'd start a thread to collect some information about what would motivate mappers to do a new map. Looking forward to it and also you to participate as well ;D
Anyways thanks for hosting this and lets see what other maps are submitted.
