RE: Draconi player model (and modeler help needed!) - MirceaKitsune - 05-13-2014 I wish to make it part of the mod itself, sorry. Bots and the campaign shall also use it. I might however improve the head design even more, to make it look as sane and okay as possible. Don't forget that what inspired me to make this model was UT2004's Skaarj and Mokara races (I hope I spelled that correctly). I wanted to have something similar to those lizards in Xonotic, although using an original idea and design of my own. So I went by the thought that if in UT it matched the theme, a similar creature would work for Xonotic. Besides... Nexuiz had the Lycan, which was also similar. RE: Draconi player model (and modeler help needed!) - Skiddzie - 05-14-2014 This doesn't really seem to fit in with the theme that erebus has going for it. RE: Draconi player model (and modeler help needed!) - Mario - 05-15-2014 Variety is good. If we stick to the same theme on all models, maps and weapons, the game will be very bland. I think the face of these draconi models is what makes them look a bit off, it's stretched in a weird way (the "eyes" on the side of the head aren't helping much either). RE: Draconi player model (and modeler help needed!) - Pendulla - 05-15-2014 Why do you keep embeding pics from nexuizninjas when it clearly says this every time: Please do not embed images from pics.nexuizninjaz.com! Also i never got to see those even when i click on the link. RE: Draconi player model (and modeler help needed!) - MirceaKitsune - 05-18-2014 v1.1 is now available. It makes the head less wide which didn't look most optimal. I also managed to fix the animations, caused by an unknown bug with IQM exporting. The files were also properly named and converted, to match the structure of the Xonotic player models... while better LOD models were as well included. Lastly, I forgot to add the new bone settings to the player text files last time, also corrected in the latest version. The model is now indeed complete and can be considered safe to put on a server. So if anyone likes the design, get it here: Download 1, download 2, GIT repository. RE: Draconi player model (and modeler help needed!) - Lee_Stricklin - 05-20-2014 Just played with it on my copy of the game and I like it. It looks good and doesn't seem to clash with the rest of the art like I initially thought it would. |
