RE: The Race Challenge - November - Halogene - 11-11-2011 heh thank you very much! Well, my music isn't very fast, too, guess I am not the fast-paced type of person maybe. But I am working on it (both ways) :oP RE: The Race Challenge - November - Dissolves - 11-13-2011 17.86 : I can do better RE: The Race Challenge - November - Sless - 11-14-2011 Sorry, but please upload the video somewhere. Thats ... RE: The Race Challenge - November - Halogene - 11-15-2011 Y U ALL FASTER THAN ME RGGNNN RE: The Race Challenge - November - Dissolves - 11-17-2011 (11-14-2011, 07:38 AM)Sless Wrote: Sorry, but please upload the video somewhere. Fine RE: The Race Challenge - November - nifrek - 11-17-2011 17:52, and pretty sure it can be done faster. EDIT: 17:42 RE: The Race Challenge - November - [CCC]KINGSHOT[CCC] - 11-17-2011 @nifrek Wanna see that. RE: The Race Challenge - November - Halogene - 11-18-2011 I don't even get close my previous best time, I don't get it how you people do that. HOW DO YOU FRICKIN DO THAT? RE: The Race Challenge - November - kuniu the frogg - 11-18-2011 0:15.43 and i can do better... hehe joking, 0:18.32 so far RE: The Race Challenge - November - Halogene - 11-18-2011 WTF oh my you got me there for a second. Nais Kuniu P.s.: i still would like to see a video/demo of the 17.xx runners RE: The Race Challenge - November - Cortez666 - 11-18-2011 nifrek & Dissolves: could you upload your demos? (I hope you use the default physics) RE: The Race Challenge - November - Halogene - 11-18-2011 I saw the demo sev provided and I don't get how he did THAT. I still can't reproduce my 19:47 - must have been a lucky run. WHAT THE HECK HAVE YOU DONE to run that below 18 seconds? I need a demo or a video, rly, pls pls EDIT: erh could it be that in 0.5autobuild the hagar refire rate got reduced a bit in comparison to 0.5? RE: The Race Challenge - November - Sless - 11-18-2011 *meh* Hagar settings have been changed between 0.5 and 0.5autobuild. Because of that you're that fast. Need to re-do / re-download this. RE: The Race Challenge - November - Halogene - 11-18-2011 OK I've tried it with 0.5, and I didn't have to try long for running the map in 18:63. I will improve that time still! I'll slap anyone that ran this map at 17:XX telling me that was autobuild, too Edit: 18:35. RE: The Race Challenge - November - Sless - 11-18-2011 One of my first tries with "normal" 0.5 ... 18:05 RE: The Race Challenge - November - nifrek - 11-19-2011 I'm using 0.5 release, not autobuild. But I want to do better, I have yet to succeed doing a "perfect" run (that is, do each part as good as I can, seems I always do a mistake somewhere). I have never been good at race, it's rather odd that I have the best time right now. Every time I manage to hit 900qu/s while doing down the long slope, I ruin the haggar part, so frustrating. So I know for sure it can be done faster than 17:42, if it's not me, it'll be somebody else. I could show a demo or video right now but IMO it's more fun to not show the "solution" until the end of the challenge. I guess I can give you a clue, which is the only thing I can think that I might be doing different. I'm pretty sure the only thing stopping you guys is the start, you have to do the perfect circle jump and not lose ANY speed when bunnyhopping up the first ramp near after the beginning (the one in the corridor). It's very hard to have the right timing, I succeed about 1 in 50 tries... The trick is to hit the jump almost exactly where the ramp start so the ramp won't slow you down, you'll be keeping the momentum from the jump at you go up the ramp. You should have hit 700qu/s by that time, even before going up. If you get that part right, then you might be able to hit 900qu/s when going down the bigger slope. I haven't been able to succeed those things AND not miss the haggar part in the run so far. Grr. I've never been any good at wall climbing, I lose all sense of location somehow, no matter how many times I do it and I can't tell how far up the wall I'm at so I never let go at the right time. RE: The Race Challenge - November - Halogene - 11-21-2011 Code: Halogene couldn't break their 1st place record of 0:18.35 [+0:00.08] meh... Why is it btw that 90 % of the times I reach 900 qu/s I bump into something on my way to hagar? I never do that with 850 qu/s... RE: The Race Challenge - November - Sless - 11-21-2011 Yep - i have the same problem. Either you slow down, and cant beat your former record - or bump into one of these FU***** blue blocks. *ew* :/ RE: The Race Challenge - November - Halogene - 11-21-2011 Yes, or you jump over the hagar ammo without taking any. Or you accidentally fall off the platform behind the hagar ammo. Or you do everything extreeeemely well (once in 1000 tries) and then you stumble over the gap directly in front of the finish. RE: The Race Challenge - November - Sless - 11-21-2011 Afaik it's allowed to set ' g_start_ammo_rockets 999 ' to prevent the ammoissue. CORTEZ!!!??? Grr yeah that keeps happening to me, so annoying. Btw, the 900 qu/s thing is the same for me, I hit a blue block or mess up haggar part. So far all my best times have been with 850-890qu/s. But that is also why I think it's possible to do it faster unless it is mathematically impossible because of the blue blocks distance or something. Also I don't think I can beat 17.42, someone else will have to do it, I officially give up. Strangely enough I hit 17.80 quite often, but below that only 3 times (17.52 once, 17.42 twice). I can't figure out why 17.80 seems to be the magic time, I think if I keep practicing the map I have the feeling I'd just still probably consistently get that time. RE: The Race Challenge - November - Sless - 11-21-2011 Please nifrek, post a demo. I'm getting quite frustrated not hitting the 17.xx RE: The Race Challenge - November - Halogene - 11-21-2011 (11-21-2011, 09:45 AM)Sless Wrote: Afaik it's allowed to set I consider this a cheat |
