Ok with Melnos script that extracted the map thumbnail and relevant info I was able to import some map and author info from the mapinfo files.
So the map directory is now updated. I still have quite a bit to do but I will allow revisions of nodes so users can upload better screen shots of the maps.
I still need to design the map, model and video display pages but should be done tomorrow. After that I'll get the video section done.

Something to consider: because the default map screenshot shows up on the map voting screen in servers, does that not make that default screenshot more familiar to players who might be looking for a specific map?

Some levelshots don't show the actual map though, if possible it would be nice to have an image gallery with multiple screenshots.

Well for now we can leave the default ones but if players want to contribute they can submit their own screen shots on top of the original ones.
