Trick question. You're running GNOME 4 beta, which is just for looking at.

Ah, the good ol' "auto-hide the taskbar" in windows vista!

RE: Desktop screenshots - divVerent - 07-18-2012

You are correct, it is OpenBox!

Here is another one:

That's the operating system of the Future. The one that boosts your productivity at work and makes your sysadmin happy.

RE: Desktop screenshots - edh - 07-18-2012

Here's my KDE 4.8 on Arch:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

That background by the way is from the Whitsunday islands off the coast of Queensland. I took the picture in April.

RE: Desktop screenshots - Mr. Bougo - 07-18-2012

Seems rather tiny.

Imageshack has become such a pain to use. You need javascript to zoom in. But in this case I guess you forgot to tell it not to resize your image...

RE: Desktop screenshots - edh - 07-18-2012

No, I'd already resized down to 960x600 to reduce bandwidth as I'm sure everyone can kind of get the idea without seeing a 1:1 representation ;-)

That is the Imageshack standard thumbnail size too.

RE: Desktop screenshots - Mr. Bougo - 07-18-2012

When I zoom in, I get a 150x94 image. I can't seem to find an image that's larger than that in the linked page.

RE: Desktop screenshots - edh - 07-18-2012

OK, well you'll just have to imagine I have a 150x94 pixel monitor then. Can't be bothered going through Imageshack again.

RE: Desktop screenshots - Mr. Bougo - 07-18-2012

Hehe. Use imgur next time Tongue

RE: Desktop screenshots - machine! - 07-18-2012

Or ompldr Smile

RE: Desktop screenshots - Cyber Killer - 07-18-2012

Personally I prefer imageshack cause they got a nice desktop uploader app. I hate it when I have to upload files through a webpage.

RE: Desktop screenshots - Mr. Bougo - 07-18-2012

Imgur and Omploader have these too, heh.

RE: Desktop screenshots - Cyber Killer - 07-18-2012

Good to know, but they're mostly DIY bash scripts, whereas imageshack's uploader is written in qt and is available from the repos.

RE: Desktop screenshots - Mr. Bougo - 07-18-2012

Two xchat icons in the systray?

RE: Desktop screenshots - machine! - 07-18-2012

Just switched to Arch on my main box, hoping the non-free ATI driver will work, I did install monsterwm and are working to get a panel bar and a sweet conf for the term! Big Grin

RE: Desktop screenshots - hutty - 07-18-2012

heres mine

uploaded to my ubuntu one account

using mint kde with kde 4.7.4

the background is one of kdes defaults ... but I use it everywhere else too
I blured some of the sticky note that have some passwords and such

panel widgets going from top down ...

-startmenu
-chrome (that I just realized i never click on anyways ... I use alt-f2 run)
-desktop switcher (use scroll wheel to switch desktops)
-window list (with chrome for this post ... dolphin file manager ... konsole ... ocular for some pdf thing i had open at the time ... quassle irc)
-popout spell checker
-timer
-color picker (by far the most useful thing on the panel)
-popout calculator (doesn't really work very well with this version of kde ... for some reason)
-system tray
-clock
-shutdown and sleep icons (that I just realized I dont use those either ...)

RE: Desktop screenshots - rocknroll237 - 07-18-2012

Quote:hoping the non-free ATI driver will work

Well at least you don't have to worry about Windows automatically installing the wrong driver for you!

RE: Desktop screenshots - machine! - 07-18-2012

Haha, true! xD

EDIT: Hutty nice desktop! Smile

RE: Desktop screenshots - Mr. Bougo - 07-18-2012

hutty: passwords in clear on your screen? Ow. I guess that means they are also in clear in a text file somewhere in your homedir. Double ow.

(Also, isn't it possible to change the text color in these notes? I'd have trouble remembering the TODOs if they were black on black Tongue)

RE: Desktop screenshots - machine! - 07-18-2012

So glad to use monsterwm instead of XFCE! Big Grin Soo much better with tiling, and faster ofc. I'll post a screenshot when I'm done with the configuration of my term and then I've installed a panel bar. Smile

RE: Desktop screenshots - Mirio - 07-18-2012

No dots on this desktop? Dafuq. Undecided

RE: Desktop screenshots - machine! - 07-18-2012

Dots?

RE: Desktop screenshots - Mr. Bougo - 07-18-2012

hutty's trademark "..."s.
