RE: CTF Mapping Contest (by GlobalGamers) - hutty - 07-20-2012 ? my map is original ... kunis and other poeples maps are looking good too also you cant say that much because mostly everyone's posts are of WIP previews ... RE: CTF Mapping Contest (by GlobalGamers) - machine! - 07-20-2012 I like both kunis and huttys maps, and I really wanna vote for one of those.. RE: CTF Mapping Contest (by GlobalGamers) - crimsaq - 07-20-2012 I love everything so far! great work folks! My map is rather ready gameplay-wise, but i really didn't have time to polish it. Deadline is coming but i'm not ready yet. Could we make it maybe 2 weeks later? Or even a month? (but 2 weeks should be enough, i hope). RE: CTF Mapping Contest (by GlobalGamers) - Justin - 07-21-2012 2 weeks should do! I vote yes for extending the deadline! Thank you, Samual for extending it! And here is the link for my map thread. I assure you: You have never seen anything like it. Hope you don't afraid of SPIDERS? what about SPIDEREXes? http://forums.xonotic.org/showthread.php?tid=3286&pid=45471#pid45471 RE: CTF Mapping Contest (by GlobalGamers) - Cortez666 - 07-22-2012 (07-21-2012, 07:01 AM)Justin Wrote: Thank you, Samual for extending it! proof or it didnt happen! RE: CTF Mapping Contest (by GlobalGamers) - Justin - 07-22-2012 You undermine the value of my word and the value of what Samual said on IRC. It might not be written by him yet here, but I hope it will have been done. If not; then well yes, its me who was wrong. and then we have 4 days of constant mapping within two breaks: for sleep and for food. Good luck anyway RE: CTF Mapping Contest (by GlobalGamers) - Cortez666 - 07-22-2012 (07-22-2012, 11:37 AM)Justin Wrote: You undermine the value of my word and the value of what Samual said on IRC. Anyway, here is an alpha (no items) of it: http://goo.gl/sct3L Missing: Almost everything. Basically it has main structures and some lighting. It doesnt have vis blockers and objects for cover. But you can get a good idea of how it will be someday. BTW, i'm starting to get the "safe malloc" errors with lighting, how do i create lightmaps to eliminate that problem? RE: CTF Mapping Contest (by GlobalGamers) - Samual - 07-22-2012 Sorry, i've been very busy-- but yes I have said I was going to extend the deadline, and of course I meant it-- New deadline is: August 26th (One month extension) I won't be able to do the poll immediately on the 26th, probably will have to wait as I might be traveling at that time. However, that is now the limit of when maps can be submitted. RE: CTF Mapping Contest (by GlobalGamers) - hutty - 07-23-2012 yay ... no i have another month to procrastinate on finishing it ... but actually... thanks for the extension RE: CTF Mapping Contest (by GlobalGamers) - rocknroll237 - 07-26-2012 Forseti, I remember the very first version of that map! I like the variety and the fact that it makes you feel as if you're inside a really big facility. I can do an analysis for you if you like, but I'm busy right now. RE: CTF Mapping Contest (by GlobalGamers) - forseti - 08-14-2012 So new alpha of the map. It doesnt have any items and only has 2 spawnpoints per team but almost everything is finished. Missing fans for the datacenters at the back of the bases. Missing sparkles for the chimneys outside and also a liquid for the pipes. Missing doors for most of the entrances (some wont have doors) Some details here and there but mostly I need to decide where the items and final spawnpoints will be. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/54224716/fortsntower_alpha2.pk3 RE: CTF Mapping Contest (by GlobalGamers) - Justin - 08-16-2012 Great job, forseti! My hat goes of to you Justin, for creating such an awesome map. The visuals are spot-on and the gameplay is fast and addictive. I also like the fact you took on board my feedback and went with the new spider logo and made new brick textures. Fortsntower: great for a big scale battle, lots of variety (indoors and outdoors) and I like the layout. The turrets also pose a challenge. It has good visuals (a bit laggy in places) and varied gameplay. bluez_vs_redz: nice layout and item placement, some interesting features. Seems like a mix between a duel map and a CTF map which is a cool concept. Abyss: Good mix of movement up high and down low which will allow people to think tactically, nice visual theme (a little bit laggy in places). The map is also quite complicated, but in a good way. My winner is SpiderCTF. RE: CTF Mapping Contest (by GlobalGamers) - Justin - 08-25-2012 I'm glad you like it, Rocknroll. However remember that not everyone has submitted their maps yet. I suggest you waiting with final judgement. I updated post, minimap was broken in the first link! Now its ok. Its Spiderctf-v1r1 now, and thats the name of it on the DCC server!
