Disable chat message sounds (checkbox not working) - Enkara - 12-10-2025
Anyone figured out the trick to disabling chat message sounds?
I unchecked the checkbox in settings
I tried some basic troubleshooting steps including reloading the game client.
Nothing I tried works :-(
I would love to figure out how to resolve this issue because I checked out the game after not playing it for a very long time and it is SO FUN, but sometimes a few obnoxious people abuse the chat message sound feature.
I am running the game client on Debian with KDE(kwin wayland)

con_chatsound 0. you can also make it a bind with bind [key] "toggle con_chatsound"

You can also filter those people out of your chat using a server-specific list managed with the `ignore` `unignore` and `clear_ignores` commands.

Where <client> is the entity number or name of the player to ignore keeping out of personal chat log.If the server and client are recent enough there's scoreboard icons for currently ignored players.
