Another new gamemode, Freeze Tag - FruitieX - 11-16-2010
Harr whipped up another quick gamemode which some should be familiar with from q3: freeze tag.
You start out in teams just like normal, but instead of dying you'll freeze into place (can't shoot, can't move) and get some ice block around you. Teammates can then revive you by standing next to you 3 seconds. When everyone in one team is frozen, that team loses. Remaining team wins. (more than two teams not yet supported, but should be easy enough to code in)

Try Krionotic (Geddit? Krio + Xonotic?). Or Icenotic.

NO. Freezetag is a very good name, and well know all around the gaming world.

When frozen can you spectate and then rejoin? Do you take damage while frozen either from your team mates or another team?

Nope, neither. You can be pushed around though, but with less force than normally.

Awesome. Always loved freeze tag.
Hows the scoring for it? Points for unfreezing team mates/killing I assume?
Tactic: Just get a porto and dump in all the frozen people so they fall in an infinite loop

Just tried it, pretty cool. +1, FruitieX. Although I think this would be far "cooler" in minsta with about 10on10
But my ice model didn't work, just those little rainbow cubes

Have been playing a lot since my last post.
I think the theory that Freezetag is a new fad and will just fade away like keyhunt is not true. Freezetag is the most teamwork-demanding game yet, much more so than TDM or even CTF, and for this reason I like it. I can see this becoming played as much as CTF. Although this might be stretching it, I would like to see it happen

I find it a little boring after a while to be honest, fun for a few rounds then that's it. TDM for me still has much more teamplay and exciting moment's then freezetag will ever be able to give me, same with CTF.

I am playing it frequently, and I have to say I didn't get bored so far. For me it's the most interesting game mode this game currently has.
