Fix high-ping strobe light effect? - Dokujisan - 02-04-2011
I know it sounds odd to suggest that a high ping player has an advantage, but they actually do (sometimes). It doesn't happen with all of them, but certain high ping players will have a strobe light effect where they disappear and reappear a couple feet ahead as they move around the map. Of course, this makes it nearly impossible to shoot them.
Is there a way to prevent that from happening? Or is that a technical limitation of darkplaces?

Like how high of ping are we talking? I've run into players (chooksta included) with as high as 400 without any issue.

Those high-ping players may be behind routers which may or may not use NAT, or some sorta 'packet clumping' - and while it helps when browsing the web, when I tried playing Counter-Strike on that setup, I often avoided getting shot just by lag. AND the server was in Europe (server ping ~ 200, while my ping ~ 2500).

btw , im not a l33t nerd player , my game style is stealing the flag and running/flying like my ass is on fire
but i do dodging stuff and sneaky (ninja)(plumber) stuff
