Greetings from Germany - Wh1sper - 09-28-2011 Hi, I am a Linux Junkie who is playing around with games since ages. I'm not so an intense Onlineplayer but enjoy single player against bots, because they are hard enough for me I am playing time to time at private Lan parties. I came across Xonotic yesterday I and found myself smiling So I wrote a short Article in German in my Blog. http://zockertown.de/s9y/index.php?/archives/1519-Xonotic-0.50.html ... and spreading the news. Btw: Are there other German natives? RE: Greetings from Germany - Cortez666 - 09-28-2011 (09-28-2011, 03:54 AM)Wh1sper Wrote: Btw: Are there other German natives? there are many germans here. RE: Greetings from Germany - divVerent - 09-28-2011 Yes, I am one, for example. Willkommen in Xonotic. RE: Greetings from Germany - #asbestos# - 09-28-2011 I'm not German, but I'm still allowed to say welcome right? RE: Greetings from Germany - Mepper - 09-28-2011 I'm not a German, aber ich kann ein bischen Deutsch sprechen Welcome anyway! RE: Greetings from Germany - Halogene - 09-28-2011 I am German too, and I just read your article on your blog. First of all welcome to Xonotic! Playing online you will receive the best game experience, since playing offline is lacking one of the best aspects of Xonotic: the community. Seriously, you'll meet a lot of friendly and also helpful people online that care more for the fun than for the winning. That being said, you didn't quite point out the roots of Xonotic correctly. The short story is that this is a fork of the Nexuiz project. The owner of the Nexuiz brand sold the name "Nexuiz" to a company that does a commercial version for consoles of the game, most of the community including virtually all of the contributors were offended by that and moved here. Nexuiz AND Xonotic both make use of the Darkplaces engine. For the long story pm me and I'll provide you with links but I don't think there's a need to dig that all up again since we're quite happy with the fork and how it is developing and I don't intend to stirr up old emotions. RE: Greetings from Germany - Wh1sper - 09-28-2011 Ok, @Halogene, I'm going to correct this. Thanx. And thanx all for the warm welcome. RE: Greetings from Germany - Maddin - 09-28-2011 Welcome! Sei gegrüßt Wh1sper, oder wie die Bayern sagen würden: Grüß Gott! RE: Greetings from Germany - naryl - 09-28-2011 Welcome! > Btw: Are there other German natives? http://forums.xonotic.org/showthread.php?tid=1146 RE: Greetings from Germany - Mirio - 09-28-2011 Hello. There is also a german IRC channel: #xonotic.de Edit: Maybe add fisumes trailer to your blog. RE: Greetings from Germany - Wh1sper - 09-28-2011 Uhh IRC, hhhm ... no :-( Dafür bin ich zu alt ;-) Including the trailer is possible, of course as long as there is no GEMA stuff or whatelse. RE: Greetings from Germany - PinkRobot - 09-28-2011 Too old for IRC haha :p Welcome! RE: Greetings from Germany - Halogene - 09-28-2011 You're never to old for IRC. I can tell. Because I learned it too! Though that was of course when I was younger. But the point remains valid - the point is, what was it again... oh yes points remain valid. Always. RE: Greetings from Germany - Fisume - 09-28-2011 Servus! Thx for writing that article. Feel free adding any of the Media I posted in my trailer thread. Cheers, fis RE: Greetings from Germany - [CCC]KINGSHOT[CCC] - 09-28-2011 Greetings from Germany! RE: Greetings from Germany - Wh1sper - 09-28-2011 I've added the Trailer Video Link. IRC is to much scrambled when more than let's say 4 persons are writing. And I'm not responding in Millisceonds it may last sometimes Minutes. So I know, I AM too old :-) But nevertheless I'm joining this evening giving it a try, ok? (09-28-2011, 06:47 AM)Mirio Wrote: Hello. And which IRC Server? RE: Greetings from Germany - Maddin - 09-28-2011 irc.quakenet.org I think RE: Greetings from Germany - Mirio - 09-28-2011 Yes QuakeNet. http://dev.xonotic.org/projects/xonotic/wiki/IRC RE: Greetings from Germany - SavageDogg - 09-28-2011 Welcome RE: Greetings from Germany - Sless - 09-29-2011 Welcome to the dark halls of ... erm ... old fags + linux geeks. Well, believe me, you're not too old for IRC. Not a chance. Most ppl are responding after minutes. Several Minutes (not to mention the respondtime of the idle guys *floet* ). Too old - impossible. Haha, when you connect to IRC and join the xonotic channel then you will see that only a few persons responding all the time. So dont worry about your "Milliseconds" The xonotic channel is sometimes more a place for siesta. Oh... I forgot something ... ... "Welcome to the show!" RE: Greetings from Germany - Wh1sper - 09-29-2011 Good Morning. Is anyone interested in Google+ ? Here is a shortcut to the Xonotic User list http://gpc.fm/l/xonotic I am the only one so far ;-) |
