It's on, Mario Tongue

CyberParcour02 is a race map, so for CTS,
you should think "outside the boundaries". Idea

Why do you guys always run the long way in the end? ..

RE: The Race Challenge - October - Justin - 10-20-2011

Yea. Why u don't use laser or STH!?

RE: The Race Challenge - October - [CCC]KINGSHOT[CCC] - 10-20-2011

@Dissolves

I'm the last... And I came back just some month ago.

Not allowed to use the laser Tongue

RE: The Race Challenge - October - Halogene - 10-24-2011

I am sorry but I still struggle with Cyberparkour 01 and try to finish that one in a decent time before I move on to Cyberparkour 02 (or, rather, to finish that one a second time, which I haven't managed to do yet). No offense, but I would recommend IF we have maps that are tough to finish to say the least, we should have only one map per month in order to allow people to actually learn to run that map.

Or maybe I am just a slow learner, then never mind me.

Edit: YAY POST #777, this calls for a toast!

RE: The Race Challenge - October - Halogene - 10-28-2011

Ok, I gave up on Cyberparkour01. My current best time (and the only time I managed to finish that one, too) is: 2:18:65.

For Cyberparkour02 there are so many times already and I need to learn that map first, dunno if I manage to do a successful run on that one.

I did a nice run on Cyberparkour03, since there seemed to be very few times for it: 1:22:98. I recorded a video on how I did it and will maybe upload it, if anyone is interested. It was the first time I managed to do that run and was totally confused that I had to jump off the starting platform to reach the finish, I stood there for like 5 secs until I realized that I hadn't scored yet Dodgy

As I see from Justin's time there's still room for improvement, and I also know where. But I don't know if I manage to do that, given the short time.

@Cortez: I value your efforts in selecting the maps and organizing all this very much, but PLEASE don't put more than one difficult map in one month Smile

RE: The Race Challenge - October - Cortez666 - 10-30-2011

there is not much time left to enter the challenge.
If you are currently leading on a map please upload your demos/videos.

Shortlist of the current leaders:
01: sev's time is available as a demo
02: Dissolves's time isn't available. The Youtube video doesn't exists anymore.
03: Justin's time isn't available.

little hint: what's the easiest way to cheat in a maze?

PS: there is not that much to learn. Smile

I decided to use all 3 maps at one month, because they all got the same style and fit good together. Anyway, something like that wont happen again in the remaining 3 challenges.

RE: The Race Challenge - October - Halogene - 10-31-2011

I'll see what I can do. I'll probably even improve my Cyberparkour03 time, as that map actually is kinda fun to play once you get the idea how to run it. I was so happy when I first reached the uppermost level that I was extra extra careful and didn't care about how long it takes AT ALL. And then I even stood like 5 secs on the starting platform and wondered why I hadn't scored... it really bugs me that I wasted so many seconds on the last part, I want to be able to do it faster than Justin Big Grin

For Cyberparkour02 I'll have to watch the demos to learn the best route, as I won't have time to figure out an own route for that map :o/ I don't know if I manage to make a run on that one still today.

RE: The Race Challenge - October - Halogene - 10-31-2011

YEEHAAA! I did it! New record on Cyberparkour03: 0:59:98 !! As soon as I found out about the alternative route to the first checkpoint this map proved to be really fun and still challenging, except for maybe getting pushed off the moving platform randomly without any options (at least I found none) before checkpoint 2. Great map, I had a lot of fun on this one.

... why is there a teleport to the roof of the starting platform if you just back up?
* Halogene wonders...

Watch the run here: http://ompldr.org/vYjI0OA/cyberparkour03-halogene.ogv

And Justin: DON'T YOU DARE BEAT MY TIME WITHIN THE REMAINING HOURS!!! Big Grin nah just joking go ahead Heart

Maybe I'll get to Cyberparkour02 this evening still, but I am not sure.

RE: The Race Challenge - October - Dissolves - 10-31-2011

Lol just realized my video is down, ill upload my 25.91. just give me a couple hours

RE: The Race Challenge - October - Halogene - 10-31-2011

Short update, before I maybe don't manage any more today: Cyberparkour02 temporary best time 28:75, with LOTS of room for optimization. Just gave it a quick try, inspired by the hint to jump on the labyrinth walls :o)

RE: The Race Challenge - October - Mirio - 10-31-2011

01: 3:33.89
02: 0:32.61
03: 2:00.33

RE: The Race Challenge - October - Halogene - 10-31-2011

Another short update: Cyberparkour02 25:13.

Video: http://ompldr.org/vYjJjeA/cyberparkour02-halogene.ogv

Notice the trick at the beginning Tongue

BTW, all my runs were done in 0.5autobuild, I figured there are no relevant physics changes since 0.5. Just for the record.
