Apologies, I get really upset by this now. Are you honestly saying it's annoying that there is an announcement of DCC CTF TIME on #xonotic.pickup? Something that almost every time leads to a couple of good public vanilla CTF games being played on DCC? Why would that be annoying? I'm trying hard to bring some consistency into public CTF gameplay and even manage to attract some people outside the pickup community to join repeatedly, and here starts to be COMPLAINTS? Why on earth would that be something someone would object to? All the time we're complaining there's too few players, and now that someone is working on establishing a ffa community, then people start getting "annoyed"? Well, this is upsetting me so much that I could flip the table over this but I won't. I will continue with this project for the sake of DCC, but sorry people, I really lack understanding for this attitude.

Also, when did it EVER happen that I did not join within 5 minutes after announcing DCC CTF time? I remember only one time and back then I announced it'd be DCC CTF TIME in 10 mins (because I wanted to play a nexball game with Ablu first), and I joined some 17 mins after announcement. Or was it someone else that announced in my absense and did not join?

As for complaining about the "noise", I've seen people complaining when someone configure the bot as annoying, I don't think you should take it too seriously.

Well, I'm sacrificing a huge part of my spare time and making all sorts of efforts to get this continuity into the DCC CTF TIME, which is really not as easy as it may seem. And it's fully for the benefit of the community without any downsides whatsoever, so I really would expect no one that cares for this community to get annoyed - especially if the noise does usually not exceed about 10 lines of IRC chat (since I'm playing then). And in most cases, it is excatly 2 lines (1: highlight of people that tend to participate, 2: "DCC CTF TIME!!!"). Anyway. I'm probably misinterpreting stuff because I'm emotionally involved in the DCC player base.

Oh, and I meant this was the only feedback that could potentially be interpreted as slightly negative of all the feedback I received - those meme lines have to be short. I get a lot of positive feedback!

Why is it on these forums. Non-game related topics get ridiculous amounts of activity, yet when it actually comes to the development/game it is seriously lacking in comparison?

Because noone of the devs use the forums for development discussions? Maybe because A. they don't get spammed with opinions and B. IRC/issue tracker/polls might be a better format for development discussion.
