Are you serious? I hate game trailers that do not have gameplay action, because they don't give you an idea of the game experience.
The trailer should have at least 50% in-game action in it.

i love game trailers with film atmosphere /cut,music,sound-effect and story/, but game trailer should also offer excerpts from the in-game playing

There is no beta, alpha or anything out yet. Let's wait 'till xonotic is ready for the first REAL release and concentrate on a small trailer then.

A trailer, I should reiterate, that does not have doctored/modified/shopped/after effect'd frames. The last thing we need is someone looking a a trailer and thinking, "WOW AWESOME", then joining a server and thinking "THIS SUX LOL".

Well, IMO we could publish some kind of teaser without actual in-game gameplay (or maybe just quick flashes) when Xonotic is about to be published as a beta (or even before that). The teaser is going to be some kind of mysterious "a game called Xonotic is going to be released, stay tuned: it kicks ass". Something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj2hewPBQh0
When the final 1.0 release is just around the corner, the actual trailer will be published with in-game action etc. And the actual trailer is going to tell the public WHAT kind of game Xonotic really is. And that's going to be an ordinary trailer-like clip, you know what I mean.
What do you think about my opinion?

A video will probably be made prior to release.
It's been mentioned before, but it needs to be something/show something like kickin it off by PCLizard action wise an have good editing.
That will attract more people then releasing a video after it's release.

You can't realize impressions of the Crysis Trailer. Crysis has got a story, and Xonotic is a ultra-fast ego-shooter, single player. Would be a great idea, such a trailer, but no chance to realize it
. Somebody has to invent a story, so more and more players would start the campaign

Wasnt there a small team which wanted to work on the singleplayer? Would be nice to get a small sitrep, have they decided on a plot? Stuff like this would be important for a trailer. If there isnt, we could simply use a trailer showing some hot multiplayer action.
