How to start with Xonotic? - Debianita - 06-21-2012 Hi, I'm really new in the gnu/linux world and in the Xonotic too. What I have to do to set up a Xonotic private server? I have to compile the game like here: http://dev.xonotic.org/projects/3/wiki/Repository_Access or what? Thank you and sorry if my question is really obvious, I didn't find an answer for this. RE: How to start with Xonotic? - tZork - 06-21-2012 have a look in xonotic/server/readme.txt this should give you an idea of the basics for running a server. RE: How to start with Xonotic? - Mr. Bougo - 06-21-2012 Also, don't compile the game. Just download it from the website. The dedicated server is the same package as the client. RE: How to start with Xonotic? - tZork - 06-22-2012 That depends on what sort of server you want, but generally you'r better off with the release as its 100% compatible with the client release. If you want to use some in-development feature or just cutting edge, the git version is the way to go tough (but note that making it work with all clients can be tricky at times). RE: How to start with Xonotic? - Debianita - 06-23-2012 Thanks for helping, I was so confused |
