sandstorm in black and white - raffi98 - 07-30-2012 Hi when i play sandstorm map, i see no colors at all everything of the ground is solid black, the sky is white. so i dont see volumes, i see only black shapes cut in the white sky. characters are solid blue or red and vehicles are white if they re on the ground, or black if they re in the sky any ideas? config: xp, xonotic 0.6.0 RE: sandstorm in black and white - Halogene - 07-31-2012 Could it be you have an outdated GPU without proper OpenGL support? Edit: see also: http://forums.xonotic.org/showthread.php?tid=3009 RE: sandstorm in black and white - raffi98 - 07-31-2012 yes i ve an old GC now, but other maps are perfectly rendered GC: fx5900xt RE: sandstorm in black and white - Halogene - 07-31-2012 Then it is probably the fog on the map that causes that, you'll see similar problems on the map Lightspeed I suppose. For rendering fog you need a openGL 2.0 compatible card IIRC, and removing fog can only be done on local games, as this variable is server-side set (otherwise players could disable fog and thereby would have an advantage over the others). Changing the source and recompile can work, but would be considered cheating. Solution is to just not play those maps or to get a newer GPU :o/ RE: sandstorm in black and white - Mr. Bougo - 07-31-2012 Somebody said it used to work in Nexuiz, so it might be a regression bug. We'd need somebody who knows how to use git-bisect and compile darkplaces to see what caused the bug... RE: sandstorm in black and white - raffi98 - 08-01-2012 so i'm kinda already cheating, as i see those flashy red or blue character on a black background, without the effects of the fog. I think it just makes me see them better. nonetheless it's hard to move on a black map... |
