Hey all, I'm Haxavier and I'm relatively new to Xonotic! I first heard of it after I tried the (retail) Nexuiz free weekend and liked the speed, but was underwhelmed by the lack of variety. I've been looking for a Quakelike to fill my needs for low-commitment, satisfying gameplay for some time now, but Quake Live's too slow, UT'99 is dead...so basically, I'm very happy I found out about this game!

If you like IRC, you can join #xonotic on irc.quakenet.org, and if you want to play pickup matches if public servers aren't enough for you, join #xonotic.pickup. There's a webchat you can use if you're not familiar with irc, at http://webchat.quakenet.org

USA, west coast. Everything's kinda high ping from where I'm sitting...thank goodness the game's netcode is really robust.
