Do you modify/make maps for games other than Xonotic? - Harmata - 10-06-2012

Made three maps for Quake III, finished just one, lost all three. Also created two levels for N, they should still be around somewhere and a level for Doom 2 (and Zdoom source port). Now working on 2 maps for Doom 2 and also messing around with prop models for couple of projects, one of them is FLARE. Would like to work with DN3D, Doom 3/The Dark Mod, Serious Sam SE and Red Alert 2.

Mapping with Duke Nukem 3D was amazing back in the day. Very steep learning curve for Build but you could create some amazing looking levels!

Oh man, Mapster (DN3D editor) really scares me, it's like everything is done with keyboard shortcuts. Eh, i'm sure it'll be worth it, too bad i have no time to learn any new software these days.

LOL, how do you think should it work otherwise? Using a button for each single action? Tongue

The original included tool was the Build Editor, this is just an editor frontend to the Build engine. Mapster32 is part of the modern EDuke32 port and uses most of the same commands but it is improved in some areas. Build Editor is scarier.

Drop-down menus, tabs for different editing modes (texturing, item placement etc) with all available actions/options and ability to use mouse to choose them. Now you have to memorize bunch of shortcuts and combinations for each editing mode.

Cool, will keep an eye on this.
