I didn't pay attention first, but this makes no use of curses that I can see. People use curses because they don't know better in TUI libraries. I'm not sure there are any widely available alternatives to it. A p2p TUI-based voicechat without complicated server setup that requires root access is VERY welcome to me. We're really missing something like this in the *NIX world.
