DSX (Damn Small Xonotic) - AnArKiSt - 03-22-2010 Can we expect a DSX? You know, a stripped down Xonotic for low performance computers, or for storage on low capacity flash drives <1GiB. (DSN let me get my frag fix for the first time in months today! ) RE: DSX (Damn Small Xonotic) - Silverburn - 03-22-2010 I sure hope so. RE: DSX (Damn Small Xonotic) - Ang - 03-22-2010 Low storage.. that'd be awesome. Imagine playing on school! RE: DSX (Damn Small Xonotic) - ImpulseNine - 03-22-2010 This would be great! I loved DSN for playing on my crappy laptop (iBook g4, Ubuntu) It gave me about a 60% performance boost and actually made the game playable (to a degree). If anything i could at least watch a game and get somewhat of a fix. RE: DSX (Damn Small Xonotic) - fabianhjr - 03-22-2010 So what is your suggestion for minimum requirements? What about 16 MB of VRAM & a Pentium 3 or better? Anyone thinks the bar should be lowered? Whats the requirements for the normal version? What about 256 MB of GDDR-SRAM & a Pentium 4 2.4 GHz or better? RE: DSX (Damn Small Xonotic) - mtp - 03-22-2010 Recommend min. spec for DSX with minimal fluff/effects, etc...: 64MB+ Gfx card 128MB+ RAM 1.0GHz+ Processor Recommended min. spec for Xonotic Full on minimal settings: 128MB+ Gfx card 512MB+ RAM 2.0GHz+ Processor Full experience can go all out of course at maximum and be mixed and matched on user whim. RE: DSX (Damn Small Xonotic) - Silverburn - 03-23-2010 The Graph card really is the most important I think. I have 2,1GHz processor, but a mobile intel graphics card for a laptop. And it really ain't holding up very good. Also have 3GB DDR2 RAM RE: DSX (Damn Small Xonotic) - The mysterious Mr. 4m - 03-23-2010 Yes, and hello. DSN was an unofficial project, anyway. We will probably just rename it. RE: DSX (Damn Small Xonotic) - Liquid Sin - 03-24-2010 As a fellow Intel (4500mhd) gfx user i'm all for it, Its also nice to have a small portable ultra playable version of Xonotic to take with you for where ever the next crappy computer may be. RE: DSX (Damn Small Xonotic) - norbert79 - 03-24-2010 I think the minimum requirement for DSX should be something like Pentium 2 and Voodoo, Quake 3 used to run very smoothly on such configurations, or you could also test the application on Netbooks too, those are the main areas where DSX could attend more fans. I used to play FreeQuake on my Eee 701 4G, which ran very smoothly despite the low GFX capabilities. RE: DSX (Damn Small Xonotic) - Cyber Killer - 03-24-2010 My guess about the minimum spec is the typical netbook config → Atom 1.6 & 1 GB RAM & GMA950. But all in all it's mostly about the gpu ;-).
