New to Xonotic, but not FPS - undone - 11-28-2012

Hi there, I'm a web developer in NYC - been playing FPS since Duke Nukem, Wolfenstein 3D, and DooM I era...

A few other games I've been into include:
  • Unreal Tournement
  • Age of Empires 1 & 2
  • Quake
  • Daikatana
  • Deus Ex
  • Half Life 1 & 2
  • Enemy Territory / True Combat: Elite
  • Counter Strike 1.6 / Source / Global Offense
  • Battlefield 2
  • Call of Duty: MW2
  • Warsow
  • Team Fortress 2

Looking foward to playing Xonotic a lot more this winter since it's cold here in the Northeast and probably can't snowboard this year due to a soccer injury.

That's actually no more correct than "soccer". If you're being a stickler for correctness call it Association Football.

I actually played both. Quake Wars was fun for awhile but felt it might have been a bit unbalanced.

I was really more into Enemy Territory: Wolfenstein though. True Combat Elite was a mod on that game, and in terms of controls and game play I think it was really great. Graphics wise it couldn't compete with CoD or Battlefield or Counter Strike, but it was still really immersive tons of fun!
