Some maps wont download through the client. - end user - 02-20-2013
I was playing imprisoned_final_r2.pk3 and the map wouldn't download. Its showing ??? for the dl speed. I can however download the file through its url or even get it using wget so its publicly available.

Where did you get the map url?
The way I usually troubleshoot this is to have the client record a demo of a map that fails to download. Then, looking inside the binary demo file, I find the curl command sent from the server (it's in cleartext, you can do this in linux: strings mydemo.dem | less.) That way you can be sure that you're testing the same url that the client is trying to access.

The map is hosted on my server which is set in the server.cfg file.

Okay. Then record a demo and either zip it up and attach it in this thread, or do the strings trick yourself to find the exact url that doesn't seem to work.
Late EDIT: Use the "rec" command in the client console before starting the map (that means: before the map is loaded, i.e. before you connect OR if you're connected, before the next map starts). That's rec mydemo.dem. You'll find the file in your personal data directory in the "demos" directory.

Yes I goit instaled. I tried it with curl_urls.txt and so far its working. Yesterday it refused to load lots of new maps like frankishtower14.pk3 and with curl_urls.txt it loaded it fine.

Ah, I was waiting for a demo file. Please update your threads if you solve your problem
It would still be nice to know what failed before you used curl_urls.txt. Can you tell me what your sv_curl_defaulturl and your curl_urls.txt contain?
