I've been using WP for about 3 years and I am constantly testing and trying out new plugins for my blogs. I've got a few in mind that might help here. Most of the titles are self explanatory. Further descriptions can be found on the respective links.

WP-Cumulus - flash animated tag cloud http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-cumulus/
DiggDigg - Digg,Reddit,Stumble,FB-Share,tweet this, and more (shows actual share counts, great for motivating people to share as well) http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/digg-digg/
YARPP - Related posts plugin, helps with increasing pages per visit/decrease bounce rate http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/yet-another-related-posts-plugin/
WPTouch - With a single click, WPtouch transforms your WordPress blog into an iPhone application-style theme, complete with ajax loading articles and effects, when viewed from an iPhone, iPod touch, Android or BlackBerry touch mobile device. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wptouch/
FB-Connect - This would require some modding to work with the forum bridge, perhaps we can add the popular option of 'connect facebook with my existing account' http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-fb-autoconnect/
