Noob in the game! - JORIMY - 03-25-2014
Hi all,
Thought I would drop by and introduce myself.
I was passed a link for this game from a fellow clan member (Uberstrike) and thought I would check it out. I have to admit, although early days and I am pretty noob, my first impression of the games is very positive
I played for a few hours last night and met a few players, cannot remember there names but one had [BOT] in front of his name, another had a multicoloured name, one called 'oblivion' or similar and the last with lots of zzzzzzzz in his name. Sorry for not remembering the names. But thanks for the games and hope to play again some times.
Any tips or tricks anyone could tell me?

Hi and welcome to Xonotic! By default, servers preceed bots' player names with [BOT], but there is actually also clan called "[BOT]" that uses this prefix. You've seen oblivion? Haven't seen him for a loong time... good to hear :o)
Anyway. Glad you enjoy the game, for tricks and tips on how to actually play this game check out the Newbie Corner. If you find me on IRC (#xonotic on quakenet) you can also highlight me and if I happen to have some spare time I'll do a tutorial. If you want to play vanilla games with more experienced people, (all weapons, no overkill mod or minsta or other), you might also want to check out the pickup scene that organizes games on a regular basis (#xonotic.pickup on quakenet).

Hi Halogene, Nice to meet you.
The player with [BOT] was maybe from the clan you mentioned as he was chatting to others in game and was pretty impressive player.
Give me some time to get used to a few things around here and maybe I will check you our on IRC. Maybe a few tutorials would be a benefit (y)

You can come to IRC also to find us friendly people, so they can show you things on the server. Like Halogene for example.
