Hello,
In order to celebrate the merging of overkill mod into master branch, we would like to organize a little overkill ctf tournament :
- 4vs4 Overkill CTF
- Servers: (SMB) Paris Overill Tourney [git] with IP 94.23.24.92:26000 and [WTWRP] Overkill with IP 176.9.65.177:31000
- Timelimit: 20
- Caps: 10
- Modus: Double Elimination
- Mappicking: Drop-Drop-Drop-Drop at Bo1 (Loser bracket), Drop-Drop-Pick-Pick at Bo3 (Winner bracket)
- Mappool: dance, tarx, implosion, catharsis, blues_vs_reds
- Date/time: 3rd of january 2015, starting at 8pm (CET), hopefully ending in the same WE, or later

[BOT] could participate in 3v3 or 4v4, but in 2015. Most of us won't be at home during christmas days.

Looking forward to this. I'd say early 2015 too. This gives everyone time to relax for the holidays and practice up since there seems to be clans interested outside of the regular line up of O.K.

Hey guys, if we do the real tournament in 2015, how about a mini version of 1v1 ctf during holidays for those who are at home?

Time to preicise it a bit!
So the tourney will start the 3rd of january (unless the date is not good for you) starting at 18h CET, and games will be played according to the availability of each teams.
It will be 4vs4. 8 teams max. Single elimination, best of 3, 20 min, 10 caps.

Maps will be voted from the following map pool (according to the poll) like a classic public game:
- dance
- tarx
- implosion
- blues_vs_reds
- go
- catharsis
Any comments are welcome, and the rules of the tourney are open to changes.
I never organised a tournament, and I only want to find the best formula that satistfy most of us.

I'd love to participate, but since I upgraded to Yosemite I'm experiencing extremely low fps (this happens only with Overkill).
If I manage to solve this issue count me in (I need a team!)

You could use #xonotic.cup channel for this.
The whole tournament will be played on 3rd January or it just starts there?
If it is supposed to be longer, you have to set some deadlines for each round or teams get lazy.
If it should be a longer tournament, then I would suggest either a Group Stage (2 groups á 4 teams and top 2 advance) or Double Elimination (that's 6 additonal games in the Loser Bracket, I usually made these games just Best of 1), because 50% of the teams will be out after the first match in Single Elimination. That kinda fixes a possible bad seeding if two (apparantly) good teams match up in first game. I assume it's hard to judge who are the best teams in this.
More questions:
- Best of 3 will be "pick-pick-drop-drop" or "drop-drop-pick-pick"? Final maybe Best of 5?
- Do you have servers yet?

Thanks for your wise advices. So it will be Double Elimination, Bo3 on the "Winner" bracket, and Bo1 on the "Loser" bracket. Map votes will be pick,pick, drop, drop drop, drop, pick, pick.
Nice thing to do the final on Bo5.

Hello there! I'd really like to take part. But from the first to the Eleventh of January I'm going to my hometown. In principle, there is a normal internet and I can take a laptop. But despite that I bought it recently, it gives little fps even on low graphics. If there are people here who can help me in solving this problem, I can provide information about it and the system.

Drop-Drop-Pick-Pick is a bit lame as your opponents will always drop your best map. Which means that in the worst case you don't get to play your best/fav map all tourney long.
