vsync, anisotropy, and other things on AMD cards - Lee_Stricklin - 01-09-2015

I've come to the conclusion as an AMD user that Xonotic's built vsync and anisotropy slow the game down more than simply using Catalyst to override the application with whatever settings you want. With that said, if you have an AMD card (I personally have a 3GB Radeon 7950) and want to play with anisotropy and vsync, then I suggest that you DISABLE them in your game's video and effects menu and then setting Catalyst up to override the application to whatever values you want. If you are enabling vsync, then I highly recommend that you enable OpenGL triple buffering as well.
