XDL - Season 4 - Mirio - 02-08-2015

Yay!
There will be sperated tournaments for "higher skill" and "lower skill".
If someone insists to play in "higher skill", he may participate there.

Disclaimer: Default balance, no Arc - Poll: Aerowalk r4, new Final Rage (link is there), Darkzone QW (Mossepo version)

1. General

Join #xonotic.duel

1.1 Group Stage

The players will be drawn into several groups (number TBA) and X players advance to a KO Stage.
All Group Stage games are played in Best of 3.

1.2 Playing

Group Stage
- Best of 3 (Bo3) (= 2 map wins needed)
- Heads/Tails->Cointoss + Drop-Drop-Drop-Drop-Pick-Pick -> If it ends 1:1 the remaining map is the decider. No draws possible.

KO Stage
- Best of 5 (Bo5) (= 3 map wins needed)
- Heads/Tails->Cointoss + Drop-Drop-Pick-Pick-Pick-Pick -> If it ends 2:2 the remaining map is the decider. No draws possible.

Grand Final
- Best of 7 (Bo7) (= 4 map wins needed)
- WB Winner picks a map he 'wins', LB winner picks 1st map. After that map loser will pick.


1.3 Duration

Start: 20th February 2015
Group Stage: 20th February 2015 until 8th March 2015
KO Stage: 9th March 2015 until TBA

If a player does not play a match, he will lose it by default. If you have real trouble in a week you should message me!

1.4 Demos
Admins can ask a player to give them their demos. If a player refuses to give them, a warn will be issued.

1.5 Registration
You can register from NOW until 19th February 2015 by a) posting here or b) messaging me (Mirio) somewhere!

1.6 Admins

2. Matches organisation

2.1 How-to
Simple: Talk to your opponent and play it on one of the official servers.

2.2 Servers

176.9.65.177:30003 - [WTWRP] Pickup Server

2.3 Matches report
One of the players should post it in the topic or message me (Mirio), preferable with a Stats URL.


3. In game play

3.1 Game format
- 1v1 Duel (XPM)
- Timelimit: 10
- Fraglimit: 0

3.2 Mappool

Aerowalk, Blood Run, Final Rage, Fuse, Stormkeep, Toxicity, Warfare

A match has to be played again if the players did not play it on one of these maps.

3.3 Forfeiting

You may forfeit during a match of course, without getting penalties.

Reversion balance or moonwalk balance though Tongue and do we play with Arc?

It's kind of confusing as of late what you sign in for in Xonotic.

Default, implies no Arc (that thing is not balanced anyway. No balance thread here, thx!).
Likely some extra cup with it another day.

After Mirio's remark I was kinda expecting at least SOME people from the "low skill" group to insist to play in the "high skill" group. Is that still going to happen or did I miss something? I'd sure like to see some people that play on my skill level in my group... ;o)

Glad to know I'm not the only one bothered by that, warpzone ain't a bad idea but it should be moved to that other wall and facing towards the stairs just to break that long line of sight between 100h and armor.

Make sure you use Mario's version of Crystal Cave (in case it is choosen for the competition) Its faster and smaller (file size)
