Tri-Mode Tournament #1 - Mirio - 03-08-2015

We proudly present you the first version of the "Tri-Mode Tournament", combining Vanilla, Overkill and Insta!

1. General

Join #xonotic.cup

1.1 Modus

- Double Elimination
- 2v2 CTF

1.2 Playing

Best of 3
  2. Heads/Tails -> Cointoss
  3. Cointoss winner picks first mode
  4. Cointoss loser picks second mode
  5. Cointoss loser picks the first map to be played
  6. Cointoss winner picks the second map to be played
  7. Cointoss winner picks the first map in the _2nd_ mode
  8. Cointoss loser picks the second map in the _2nd_ mode
  9. If 3rd mode is needed, cointoss again to decide who picks first

Best of 1
  2. Heads/Tails -> Cointoss
  3. Cointoss winner picks first mode
  4. Cointoss loser picks second mode
  5. Cointoss winner starts dropping
  6. Cointoss loser starts dropping in the second mode
  7. If 3rd mode is needed, cointoss again to decide who drops first

A team has to win two modes. Each mode will be played in a Bo3 (Winner bracket) or Bo1 (Loser Bracket).

Winner Bracket
- Best of 3 (Bo3) (= 2 map wins needed)
- Heads/Tails->Cointoss + Pick-Pick-Drop-Drop -> If it ends 1:1 the remaining map is the decider. No draws possible.

Loser Bracket
- Best of 1 (Bo1)
- Heads/Tails->Cointoss + Drop-Drop-Drop-Drop -> Reamining map gets played.

Grand Final
- Best of 5 (Bo5) (= 3 map wins needed)
- Heads/Tails->Cointoss + Pick-Pick-Pick-Pick -> If it ends 2:2 the remaining map is the decider. No draws possible.


1.3 Duration

Start: 20th March 2015


If a team does not play a match, they will lose it by default. If you have real trouble to play you should let us know!

1.4 Demos
Admins can ask a player to give them their demos. If a player refuses to give them, a warn will be issued.

1.5 Registration
You can register from NOW until 19th March 2015 by posting here (Team name + Players)

1.6 Admins

2. Matches organisation

2.1 How-to
Simple: Talk to your opponent and play it on one of the official servers.

2.2 Servers

2.3 Matches report
One of the players should post it in the topic, preferable with a Stats URL.


3. In game play

3.1 Game format
- 2v2 CTF
- Timelimit: 10
- Fraglimit (caps): 7

3.2 Mappool

Insta: Dreamscape_r1, Evilspace_deepsky_v1r2, Gib_warehouse_v2r1, Recratemini, Tarx
Overkill: Dance, Go, Implosion, Skycastle, Tarx
Vanilla: Dance, DM_Castle, Go, Hydroxon, Tarx

A match has to be played again if the players did not play it on one of these maps.

3.3 Forfeiting

You may forfeit during a match of course, without getting penalties.

#3 What settings would be used in vanilla ctf? Just the recent physicsX.cfg and balance-xonotic.cfg or maybe XPM or something totally different?

#2, ups - fixed!

#3: Default balance and physics (both git). Except for these cvars listed in the config here.

I don't want to look like downer or nerd but this proof isn't prove anything.
For example it is possible spin the wheel over and over again until result will satisfy, or just tamper programs code. The are some cryptographic schemes that could give real proof.
