Hey Champion_The welcome. Great to see another person who enjoy Xonotic and wants to see its community to improve. Recently theres been a nice boost of players so it shouldn't be too hard to find a game to hop into.
I'd also recommend joining our IRC channel as its easier to coordinate games like duel and TDM there. #Xonotic.pickup #Xonotic #smb for starters.
Have patience! The game will be big and a tightly knit community will help with that
