6DOF: Sol Contingency launches closed beta - Halogene - 11-03-2015

Anyone remember Descent? A team of 6DOF (Six Degrees Of Freedom) enthusiasts has put long ignored gameplay mechanics onto a modern platform. Now their project finally reached a state where they release it for testing to a limited number of people, with an open beta stage following later this month (hopefully). Check the trailer:

The Proving Grounds release will be free as in beer, aiming to raise enough awareness in order to successfully pull off a kickstarter campaign for the full game.

The full game might be available for Linux as they plan to port to another engine.
