Xonotic Winter Duel Cups - thearcoN - 12-16-2015

Hello everyone!

I have seen there is a lot of people in this community that contributes in different ways; Halogene's noob corner, Smilecythe's explanations in how the movement works, srkdy's community fragmovies, Antibody's duel commentaries etc.
Since I am new to this community as well as the game, I have enough with just playing and understanding the game mechanics. However, I still want to contribute to this awesome community.

I have thought about it for a while and I've made up my mind. I'm gonna start hosting tournaments/cups as often as possible. I know there will be a tournament called Reversion Cup in late January 2016 organized by thimoe so I will wait with the announcement for mid/late-January until I know the exact dates for that tournament so it don't collide. In the meantime, I will try to host a couple of tournaments in late December and early January if people are up for it. I will continue to host tournaments in the following months. It will only be in weekends since most of the players in this community have school/work commitments during weekdays.

Keep in mind that these tournaments is for any (low, mid & high skilled) players, so don't feel that you cannot sign up because you haven't dueled competitively before or if you are new to the game. It might be good practice for the upcoming Xonotic Duel League season. Big Grin

19th & 20th. December 2015
20th. December 2015 #2
25th & 26th. December 2015
2nd & 3rd. January 2016
9th & 10th. January 2016
16th & 17th. January 2016

Cup Start: 19:00 CET

If you want to participate in any of these tournaments you can find me on #xonotic #xonotic.cup #xonotic.pickup and #sacras at quakenet, or just post here in thread with which date you want to play and I will update the list below with participants.

Cup settings:
* 1v1 Duel
* Timelimit: 10
* Fraglimit: 0
* Double Elimination (Upperbracket and Lowerbracket)
* Best of 3 maps (This may change to best of 1 in Lowerbracket if the attendance is high)
* 7 maps in the map-pool. Each player ban 2 maps each and the last 3 maps will be played.
* Grand Final will consists of best of 5 maps and the winner bracket finalist will automaticly have 1-0 advantage. This means that the winner bracket finalist will have to declare which map he gets the advantage from.

It sucks for me because its a terrible map to play with ping. It's hard enough to +back with the limited exits and the one big open spot on the map. Also no nex. Sad

Yeah, that is understandable. On the good side, I hope megarmor and megahealth locations should tolerable for you with 100ms due to crylink/mortar/electro spam.(?)

About the no nex thingy. I want to have a map with no nex in the pool and since darkzone rarely got played in the last tournaments I hope warfare will have a better outcome.Smile
