One oddball idea I have for a lightning gun is that its secondary mode should work in a way that has no comparison that I know of, except Pikachu's attack in the Super Smash Bros. series.

That is, it should fire a somewhat slow-moving projectile that, upon hitting a surface, creates a bouncing arc of electricity that hugs the surface and travels for a certain distance before disappearing. The direction it travels would of course depend on the angle at which the projectile hits the surface, so maybe something special can happen if it hits perpendicularly or close enough. For example, some kind of stationary arc effect that lasts a few seconds.

Maybe you could have a combo effect if you manage to fire a primary shot into the secondary shot, either a small area-effect lightning storm if you hit the projectile before it discharges, or just a damage boost if you fire through a traveling or stationary arc.

I was looking for a thread to post a few wep ideas
1:NEEDS a weapon with a continuous beam of something, for example, the Lightning Gun from Quake Live. Make it make about the damage of a laser each half second it continuously hits someone. A good secondary fire could be a non-continuous beam, that does high damage.
2:A good wep might be a minigun. Like in quake live, it had the machine gun and then it had the minigun. The more someone holds the mouse button, the more the bullets come out of the minigun per second. A good secondary fire for it could be a slower speed hail of bullets that is more inaccurate but does more damage.
3:There could be a weapon like the electro just that it had less push, less damage, but a lot faster fire speed. Good secondary fire: i dunno bout this one, someone might reccomend one if they like.
