RE: Screenshots of what you're doing. - monad - 11-05-2010 RE: Screenshots of what you're doing. - kojn^ - 11-05-2010 Looks good Monad!!!!!!! Looks very promising. DM map I presume, how big are we talking? Nice work also theShadow, very nice. RE: Screenshots of what you're doing. - vede - 11-07-2010 Goin' slow, but still goin'! RE: Screenshots of what you're doing. - Lee_Stricklin - 11-07-2010 Looks pretty good. RE: Screenshots of what you're doing. - Cortez666 - 11-08-2010 @vede looks like on base of a ctf map anyway progress!! RE: Screenshots of what you're doing. - Strahlemann - 11-09-2010 @cortez looks like solid brushwork. The texturing however seems pretty random to me RE: Screenshots of what you're doing. - kojn^ - 11-09-2010 Some really impressive quality of work here, xonotic should have some really fine maps, more so CTF at the moment. Really great work, guys. RE: Screenshots of what you're doing. - Kaz - 11-13-2010 Just had some suggestions for Cortez666. I think it's looking like a pretty good start . You might benefit from looking at the style of CTF maps that threewave did for Doom3 CTF, the eX set is somewhat similar. I'd agree with strahlemann that the texturing in that last shot is looking a little funky - it might be a good idea to stick with just eX, or at least re-hue the other textures to match the same color palette. I tried really hard to find screenshots of d3 ctf maps but they apparently don't exist on the internet anymore... Some references for what I'm talking about in the screenshots: http://method.gamedesign.net/methctf1.htm http://student.cs.appstate.edu/freemancw/junk/liquidpipes.jpg http://student.cs.appstate.edu/freemancw/junk/subduedpipecolors.jpg http://student.cs.appstate.edu/freemancw/junk/doorwaydesign.jpg http://student.cs.appstate.edu/freemancw/junk/colorblending.jpg http://student.cs.appstate.edu/freemancw/junk/hallwaystructure.jpg http://student.cs.appstate.edu/freemancw/junk/skylinedetail.jpg http://student.cs.appstate.edu/freemancw/junk/bridgesupport.jpg Screenshots: Hopefully you find this stuff helpful! Keep up the good work RE: Screenshots of what you're doing. - Debugger - 11-13-2010 Kaz, your screenshots look really good! (I think they belong to the "inspiration for maps" thread ) Are they from doom? btw: in my opinion it isnt very simple to break up some areas and give them another "color" than gray, the texture packs are mostly gray RE: Screenshots of what you're doing. - Kaz - 11-13-2010 They're from Quake 4. I should also note that they are definitely NOT mine, I just posted them for reference . I'd definitely agree with you that it can be difficult to start mucking about with modifying the textures and whatnot - I might be able to help out with that if I get the time. RE: Screenshots of what you're doing. - Morphed - 11-14-2010 wow Kaz, you put a lot of effort to comment this map, good work, its hard to disagree with anything you said RE: Screenshots of what you're doing. - Cyber Killer - 11-15-2010 (10-19-2010, 04:56 PM)Rad Ished Wrote: More sauce: I just love the colorscheme on this one. I mean the yellowish afternoon light gives it a peaceful look, so unusual in fps games ;-). RE: Screenshots of what you're doing. - Debugger - 11-16-2010 What could that be? (It's not finished by far ) RE: Screenshots of what you're doing. - Cortez666 - 11-16-2010 i know it ! i know it! Do i win a prize, if i got the correct answer? RE: Screenshots of what you're doing. - Debugger - 11-16-2010 hehe You and FruitieX wont because you know about it (and you both help a lot!) edit: ok, dissolve it, cortez or FruitieX RE: Screenshots of what you're doing. - Justin - 11-18-2010 wha wha whats that? Looks nice (expect textures ) New ctf map or sth? Till now: RE: Screenshots of what you're doing. - Rad Ished - 11-25-2010 Hey, how did I end up with the wrong sky on this? :O RE: Screenshots of what you're doing. - sev - 11-25-2010 Experimenting with textures. All in all, sweet progress. Make the texture work and lighting as interesting as the architecture and we have a really cool map upcoming |
