It seems that you snipped the white around the non-emote icons manually. It's better to retrieve them from the source.

of course its possible, it depends on the image you want to edit though.

He still hangs out on irc sometimes, but he's super busy with life. I don't have access to the web server, but you can file an issue in the bug tracker and assign it to me if you want.
