DEKU TREE map blender export questions - filip - 07-23-2010 Hey guys, I've built up this map using Blender. Its in its early stages, but I need to do some play testing. The problem is, I am on a Mac, and I can't figure out for the life of me how to get this thing onto NetRadiant, and then get it working for nexuiz/xonotic. Could anyone offer some advice, or provide some links for some tutorials? I am not very tech savy, and I have no idea what I'm doing. ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks, filip RE: DEKU TREE map blender export questions - filip - 07-23-2010 So I exported the map as .map, tried to open in Net Radiant, n nothing happens. But I get one of these: Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to find default local directory monitor type Loading map from /Users/filip/Documents/dekutree*.map Open file /Users/filip/Documents/dekutree*.map for read...success Texture load failed: "textures/" Texture load failed: "textures/trunk2" Loaded Texture: "textures/common/caulk" Texture load failed: "textures/trunk_interior" Texture load failed: "textures/trunk" Texture load failed: "textures/wood" 66:152: parse error at 'grain': expected '#number' brush 7: parse error entity 0: parse error map load timer: 0.00 second(s) elapsed --- LoadMapFile --- /Users/filip/Documents/dekutree*.map 0 primitive 0 entities RE: DEKU TREE map blender export questions - FruitieX - 07-23-2010 Odd... Which exporter are you using? Maybe try exporting it as a model instead? (no further editing possible in radiant then, though) RE: DEKU TREE map blender export questions - Peroxyde - 07-24-2010 FrutieX, filip and I are working together on this. Is there an exporter you could recommend? RE: DEKU TREE map blender export questions - FruitieX - 07-24-2010 (07-24-2010, 02:24 AM)Peroxyde Wrote: FrutieX, filip and I are working together on this. Is there an exporter you could recommend? If I have objects in my map, like torches or statues, should I export them as objects and add them in net radiant, or could I just merge them with the map before I export? Is any particular method better? RE: DEKU TREE map blender export questions - toneddu2000 - 07-24-2010 Hi filip!Did you use z80's exporter script or default Blender map exporter. Because z80 wrote a neat map exporter for blender you could use. here yo can find the thread with the link to it bye! RE: DEKU TREE map blender export questions - Strahlemann - 07-29-2010 Hi. I just wanted to mention that there's a pretty good tutorial over here along with some other interesting stuff on optimizing your blender meshes for games in general. There's also a very interesting walkthrough on how he realised a whole map using a workflow between radiant and blender here |
