Doxa (from ancient Greek δόξα, "glory") 

Date/time: Saturday 22nd February 20:00 CET

If you are 100% you want to play in this tournament msg me and i will give you "doxa role" on discord and add you to list
of players in this thread.

The event will be streamed but i am waiting on streamers to get back at me with info if they can.

● Prize pool (it will be payed asap after tournament is done via paypal)
1st place - 100 EUR
2nd place - 75 EUR
3rd place - 50 EUR
4th place - 30 EUR
5th-6th place - 10 EUR
5th-6th place - 10 EUR

The prizepool is 275 EUR at the moment but it might grow as we keep it open so 
the community can donate to the prize pool if they want to.

Basic rules:
- 1v1 Duel (XPM)
- Timelimit 10, no fraglimit
- Modus: Double Elimination. BO3 upper, BO1 lower, 
- BO3 -> Coint toss pick pick drop drop
- BO1 -> Coint toss drop drop drop drop and last map is played
- BO5 Grand Finals -> bo5 will be pick, pick, pick, pick
- Admins: ZeRoQL, Mirio, packer
- Skill level: any

Great to see another duel tournament!

I have some points of concern though:
  1. The price-pool distribution should be a bit more even, at least pay 2nd and 3rd place something (75% / 15% / 10% might be good).
  2. If you're going to include maps like darkzone and silentsiege which are not played very often you should either give players more time to prepare or make the bo3 map veto drop drop pick pick.
  3. Double elimination is a great format and gives people a chance to come back through the loser bracket. But why make it bo1? Making it bo3 will give everyone a better chance and will ensure the lower bracket doesn't have to constantly wait for upper bracket results.

I wanted to revive Xonotic community a bit Smile 

1. I dont want to split prize, so who ever wins the whole thing will get money from my pocket, but i am open if somebody wants to donate for 2nd and 3rd place. (Dodger already said he will donate some)
2. Ch4mp suggested similar thing but i wanted those 2 maps in also if we go for drop drop veto first, i would never play hub since everybody will drop that map from me, but i like players to pick their best maps and play.

1. Alright, fair enough.
2. That is kind of the point of map vetoes. Allow people to veto their worst or their opponent's best map. After that a bit of strategy enters the picture. Tbh I have never seen a map veto format in any esports game that started with pick-pick. It's called map veto for a reason.
3. Yes but when you play lower and upper bracket at the same time I don't think you really speed things up much. As a compromise can you at least make the last 3 rounds of lower bracket bo3?

Hello. 

Can anyone sign up to the cup? I haven't actually played Xonotic event though I always wanted to try it.
I have played lots of other fast paced arena shooters so hopefully have some transferable skills.

I'm unfamiliar with the logistics of map selection so will need some guidance on the day of.
Do I need to turn on my demo recording? Or you can just get it from the server?

I think it would be best if admins enabled demo recording on servers. It proved to be much more reliable and easy than collecting player demos.
