[MAP CTF] geoplanetary (beta) - MintOX - 09-14-2010 Title: geoplanetary Description: Space base style CTF map Author: mintOX License: GPL Credits: Cunington's "polluted earth" skybox Fruitiex's jumppadmodel01 Its the geomonetary map you know and love but now with more spacey stuff. Made for xonotc. Quite a few visual and structural changes. Warp zones also. RE: [MAP CTF] geoplanetary (beta) - clanclanclan - 09-15-2010 Looks very nice, and I like the layout and item placement A few things I noticed: - Overall, the map seems very dark. Increase the ambient light, perhaps? - When I go through the warpzones, my speed is reset to 0 (!). Idk if this is causing it, but there may not be enough room behind the warpzone for the player to be put into. - The contrasting colours hurt my eyes (though that is just personal opinion) - I'm not sure if it fits in with the theme, but I wouldn't mind seeing the blue and red rails replaced by "laser rails" - Will #XONOTIC.HOCTF be in the final version? Because that might slow the map's uptake by server admins - The aerials/electrical equipment on the roofs look a bit... dull. Perhaps it's the rust? - I love how you can get onto the roof now I really liked geomonetary, and geoplanetary is looking good so far! So I guess your genomonetary version for Xonotic for this bug also. I could not try this yet. I think an open roof is bad, because you can camp from there easily. The colors are going to stay the same sorry :p I thought about laser rails, i may yet do it, im just worried about the map performance atm. I should probably remove the xonotic.hoctf and just put #xonotic in there. I kind of like the antennas but im open to suggestions... The roof was not left open intentionally, that will be clipped off before the final release, sorry :p Thanks for your input. Cheers! Also, this is too easy of a shortcut to exploit, I think. I'd avoid this kind of branding Anyway, I've always liked geomonetary so the flaws with this map are generally purely cosmetic, since it doesn't seem like you touched the geometry a whole lot. |
