Hi,

has anyone try to run xonotic with an Intel HD4000 (Core i5- 3230M), does it run smoothly?

Regards,
k

Hey, I run Xonotic on my i3 notebook (Lenovo L420) and get about 100 fps on average with fairly low settings; on some maps I have down to 60 fps (e.g. on solarium, to name one). But it's quite okay for playing, more fps would be better of course but I can't really complain.

This is how it looks on my sys - even with low settings, Xonotic still looks good =)

In the list, most of them are nvidia and some intel HD 3000 cards.

The Lenovo L420 exists in different configurations, but there is not a core i3 Core 3. gen, only 2. generation, are you running xonotic on an onboard graphic card (Intel HD3000)?

Yes, of course I run it on the integrated GPU, I don't have any dedicated GPU installed =)

My CPU is an i3-2310M by the way, clocked at 2.10 GHz, with Intel HD 3000 graphics. I guess HD 4000 should give more performance? It would be cool if you could run a benchmark after you installed Xonotic, and post the results here: http://forums.xonotic.org/showthread.php?tid=2562 I'm interested in how much performance gain the newer generation accomplishes Smile

I do not have the notebook now, but I'm looking for a new one, else I would try myself.
Without dedicated GPU is cheaper and would be enough if I can play xonotic and some other games. Smile

hm... if the old HD3000 can handle this, it should be no problem for the HD4000.

But yes, as soon as I have the notebook, I can run a benchmark.

Now I have a geforce 9200M, it would be nice to see a comparison for this two cards, but found nothing.

Im running it on a 6 year old Cor2dua Dell Inspirion 1720 with an Geforce 8400M and runs fine so I'm pretty sure yours will be fine.

Depending on which 8400M End User has, your 9200M will be either a bit better, moderately better, or much better. You'll smoke the 8400M G, burn the 8400M GS, and outrun the 8400 GT possibly by benchmarks only. Either way, yes it'll work fine with the right configuration.

(For the 8's, the 8400M is the entry level mobile nvidia GPU. For the 9's, the entry level is 9100M, so can't really go strictly by the numbers)

I've got a laptop with similar specs, I get something like 80fps on with medium settings.
