Japanese or Korean etc. players/servers?

#1
Well actually I am asking because the 3 available servers in Japan are the only ones with a decent ping from where I am based right now (Philippines), so I am wondering if there are any regular games on these or something like that.

But maybe it would also make sense to try an expand the player base (translations?) into these "markets" a bit more given that Xonotic already seems to have an initial foothold there?

Do we have any native Japanese or Korean speakers here?

Edit: If there is anyone who can help out with translations go here:
https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/xonotic/
(Mainland Chinese is already almost at 50%, Japanese can be started, Korean is not yet available as a translation project, but I guess it should be possible to include)

to that IP 230ms, so not good enough for playing.

The Japanese ones have around 120ms, so just barely playable.

If plenty of people from the Philippines show up, I could host a game from time to time though. Not a great connection, but for 4-6 players it might work.

Although this is not strictly a latency report, I suspect the regional bandwidth limits the performance.

I thought English is one of the official languages there. No?

In the Philippines yes, no urgent need to translate the game here (but a Tagalog version wouldn't hurt). But the Korean and possibly the Japanese player-base is much bigger and there not very many people speak English.

Hmm 120 ping is more than playable at 180 is when it gets harder.

heh, but no fun playing against a LPB when you only have a 120ms ping :p

But as I said, those Japanese ones would be fine... I just never seem to catch any players on them even when idling.

I just wish that those Japanese players would add custom player models to Xonotic on occasion. There is no need for every single player on a server to be stuck with Erebus just because somebody is obsessed with being perfect with a purr.
