Greetings from California!

#1
Hello there! I play as "Paingwin Sad" on servers! I played Nexuiz Classic for quite some time but was never involved in the community because I was a latecomer to the game (and also my connection to servers was bad anyways). Only recently have I learned about Xonotic, and yesterday I played my first multiplayer match and had a blast! I'm probably going to stick around for a while.
I come from California and play on a well-abused 2011 MacBookPro, often without a mouse, so if you see me online and I'm bad...that's why. But after playing NC in my spare time for a while, I'm not as bad as you might think.
Also, on a side-note: I've seen people on servers talk about other similar FPS arena games, like AssaultCube and Warsow. Those games appeared on my radar long ago but I disregarded them when I was satisfied with NC. Are they worth a shot to try out?
I swear there's probably something witty I could put in here, but it's going over my head right now.

Both AssaultCube and Warsow have proprietary assets. I've heard that AssaultCube bans source code mods on the official master server. Warsow dev team has been dissolved and the game is now on life support.

Gameplay-wise, I think Warsow is *way* focused on eSport aspect. Most players do some insane movement tricks that take years to master. Also, there are no fun gamemodes and bots play terribly.

AssaultCube... meh. It's pretty average. The worst thing about this game is the bug where you move faster if you move diagonally and devs say that this is a feature. As a result, everyone moves diagonally and I hate it.

Welcome. I saw you playing on my server before from IRC. It has a dedicated niche of west coast players that regularly visit & they get notifications whenever someone joins. You're very welcome to either connect to the server or the server's chat channel @ QuakeNet #xonotic.na

Aiming is a skill that takes years to master if there was even a master or human player with perfect aim, doesn't stop people from playing shooter games.
Xonotic exists for a long time and low player count is the proof that nobody wants to play Xonotic since it is a bad game by default.

The problem is whether the speed of my mastery exceeds the speed of my aging. Smile

I guess that hasn't stopped you either.
