Hi, I'm error_27 and I actually have been playing for a couple months now Tongue

I would like to get into building maps and maybe some custom content for the game!
I'm not very good, but it's fun playing with you all!

Check out the wiki page for it, though for the editor itself I would recommend netradiant-custom over the vanilla version of Radiant posted on the wiki. The controls and general UI are the same, but custom has a boatload of quality of life features that make mapping easier (e.g much more powerful 3d view and improved texture fitting tools).

I did end up trying that after messing around with vanilla NetRadiant, but I ran into an issue where the default textures don't render in the editor Sad

Use Netradiant-custom. In order to fix textures create a folder xonotic-data.pk3dir in your data folder and put the content from the dds folder inside xonotic-20220627-data.pk3 into this folder. You should then have a structure like this:

/home/youruser/.xonotic/data/xonotic-data.pk3dir/textures/tuba.dds

You have to do this, because putting the textures inside "dds/textures" instead of just "textures" is a Xonotic "quirk". Also to open older maps rename xonotic-20220627-nexcompat.pk3 to xonotic-20220627-n3xc0mpat.pk3 because it is blacklisted in Xonotic's Radiant (but I think it works in Netradiant-custom regardless).
