As a side note: I did have to edit the server_linux.sh file as the binary seems to have changed names from "xonotic-linux64-dedicated" to "xonotic-dedicated" without the script being updated. Anyway, when I run the server script I receive an error that libjpeg.so.8 is missing. Running ldd on xonotic-dedicated confirms this. I have tried installing older versions of libjpeg and creating a simlink but then I receive an error that LIBJPEG_8.0 is missing. I haven't had any luck installing the library from a snapshot either. To those of you running a dedicated server, how do you normally deal with this issue?

Hi everyone!

I've recently discovered Xonotic and have fallen in love. I've set up a private server for a small group of friends to enjoy together.
I was curious on how to implement a radio mod much like is used on Jeff & Julius Resurrection Server were the server is indeed autocaching music pk3s to play in the background; if the user doesn't want this they turn it off via the console. My friends and I would think it's cool to load up some music while we play;

Also does this mod STOP playing music when a map has music built in? I'm curious how that works. I just wanted to know if that is something custom they did themselves or if there is a process in which you can set it up easily. Thanks very much in advance for any guidance anyone can provide.

Has anyone here hosted a server on a device or on an obsolete Android phone?

I'm thinking of doing this.

My interest is in trying this is having an inexpensive low power server -- since most servers are unpopulated most of the time.

I don't want to, for instance, leave my Ubuntu desktop on all the time.

So the thought of hosting a server on an old Android device, I imagine the power consumption is very low.
Going to check out Ballerburg's research on free servers ...

I used Linux and are connected to internet through a wireless, portable wifi modem. I created a listen server with the 'Create' option in game to play with my friends. After entering the server, I check the server list again to found that my server isn't listed there! My friend can't see the server too. Previously I have copied the server.cfg on the 'server' directory to ~/.xonotic/data and renamed it as autoexec.cfg. I only set two variables on that file: `sv_public` to 1 and `hostname` to a hostname that I want. What's wrong?

Hi.

I recently upgraded my xonotic server from 0.8.5 to 0.8.6, and since it runs on ARM cpu, I compiled darkplaces, and use that binary to run a server.

This worked great for 0.8.5 and also seems to work great for 0.8.6, except...
Since the upgrade the bots act weird. I have a default of minimum 5 players, so the bots are added when less players are available.
But when players join, the bots behave weird. They run to the users, but don't fire at them. When the player starts to fire at the bots, the bots seem to run, but don't fire back.

I user the same server.cfg as I did for 0.8.5 and made no changes to it.

I used the update script to perform the update.

Also downloaded the 0.8.6 zipfile and unpacked it over the existing installation...
But still no luck... Changing skill level doesn´t change behaviour either...

Anyone having the same issue?

Hello All,

i do not know if this is the right part in the Forums, if not please move this post.

I created an Instagib server with some modifiers, more specificly i changed the following:

g_balance_vaporizer_primary_refire 1.5

I do not know if this is in the game but is there any option to force it to change to 0 for 1 shot after a Kill? So you can shoot instantly again after a Kill?

Or do i need to code it and recompile Xonotic.

Best Regards
