Hello all, and welcome to a constantly updating post as we return to the age of forums and the open web!

I'm going to be hosting regular(ish) Xonotic DeFrag tournaments live on the exe.pub servers. These will mostly be hosted on Thursdays at 19:00UTC (or UTC+1 in summer daylight savings).

Right now they consist of 3 rounds of 20 minutes across varied maps on the Relaxed Running playlist. The times at the end of the 20 minutes are taken down, some magical maths from the XDWC rulebook applied to them, and then we see who won.

[XDF] Kool Strafe Competition

Hi all, a message from the wonderful Kool and the Xonotic DeFrag community:

Hello @everyone, I've been working on 5 maps for the last two months and finally I am very happy to officially announce the Xonotic Strafe Competition.

The event will use the same format and score system as xdwc uses.
The first round will start Saturday February 21st at 6pm UTC (in a month).
Each round lasts exactly one week, so the event will take over a total of 5 weeks.
The rules are the same as those for xdwc . The prize pool for now is 100 EUR.

Servers will be listed in game, if you want to practice join exe.pub DeFrag servers (Relaxed Running, Respect The Grind, and Hardcore Parkour)

We proudly present you the Xonotic Defrag World Championship 2025! XDWC is a CTS tournament where we invite everyone to join and have some fun.

FAQ

What is Defrag?
In Xonotic it is played in the CTS (Complete the Stage) mode using the XDF physics set. The goal is to complete a map as fast as possible.

How does XDWC work? (detailed rules further down below)
- Every player can join it at any time!
- 5 (+ warmup) unique and unreleased maps will be played
- Your time and ranking will be converted into a score for each map
- Player with the highest score after all maps will be crowned as the Winner

Rules

Each Map (aka. Round) will be played for 1 week (see Schedule) on special servers, which are going to run 24/7.
You do not need to register beforehand to take part in XDWC!
You automatically join the tournament by setting a time on one of the servers listed below.
You do not have to take part in every Round, you can join each Round seperately as you like it. However, you won't be able to submit a time for a round that has already passed.
Your best time in the server rankings will be your time for the Round. The time must be set on an official server (see the list below)! You can NOT run a map locally and submit a time.
Weapon projectiles may not affect any runs other than the one they were fired in. Violating this rule makes your run invalid.
By joining the tournament you agree that we store your username and your results in our databases.
Points calculation formula: SCORE = 1000 * (time_of_the_fastest_competitor/your_time) * 0.988 ^ (pos - 1)

CTS/DeFrag Quick Cup

Greetings once again! Do you like speed? Well you're going to love Xonotic DeFrag (or XDF)

On Friday 15th August, at 18:00 UTC we'll gather on the exe.pub Relaxed Running server (exe.pub | Relaxed Running #1 | CTS/XDF) and play 3 maps in a row. The cup will take an hour.

Three maps, rockets, slick, and strafe. The points will be calculated using the XDWC points system (or a nerfed version if I can't work out excel) SCORE = 1000 * (time_of_the_fastest_competitor/your_time) * 0.988 ^ (pos - 1)

Rules and Setup:
At the start of the cup we'll call a vote gotomap kool_speed1_rl and play that for 20 minutes, no extends.
Then we'll have queued up kool_speed2_slick, which we'll again play for 20 minutes, no extends.
During that we'll queue up kool_speed3, play for 20 minutes, no extends, and that'll be it finished.
Please try to be in game and not in spec when the game ends so the end of game screenshot shows your time.

Kotangens' duel exhibition is over!

Hi guys! From my previous expirience, people did like my activities, and I have got support from them, especially Gibins who is a main exhibitions/events organiser as well as MxCrab. In spite of got only three people, I have got an experience on how to talk/commentate with people and how to organise a tournament, i had more people interested in my activities, which is good for me to go next. This time, I decided to organise an exhibition (usually Gibins organises it every Thursday in Xonotic Discord server). My goals here are almost same as the previous one (learn rules, bring people, ...), but this time, I would like to see what an exhibition looks like.

I was inspired by MxCrab and Gibins by organising Xonotic duel tournaments/exhibitions and by commentating. Its main gimmick is using only vanilla maps, as MxCrab did it in their previous tournament.
My goal here is to organise a duel tournament, understand how it works and what rules are there, and bring people who are going to be interested in my tournament.

It's going to start at:
August 2 at 6:00 PM EEST (or 3:00 PM UTC)

Vanilla Xonotic Duel Cup!

It's been a long while since we've had a proper tournament, and with the return of pickups I thought it was a good time to do something different, but also the same. So this time the "gimmick" is that it's only maps from the base game of Xonotic.

The cup will start on Saturday 26th July 2025 at 12:00 UTC with checkin from an hour before. The bracket will be https://challonge.com/9xwloc31

Weekly FFA Insta+Hook ?

Would anybody be interested in a weekly (NA) InstaGib + Hook FFA ?

It would consist of a total of 10 players and I would spectate and stream it/ record it.

I would keep track of all players stats by screenshot and report the scores to my spreadsheet points system to display winner.

There would be 6 maps first to 30

This would obviously be trial and error as this goes but might be a fun event and plus it would help create content.

It would be Saturday evening around 9 or 10pm CST

Rules

Each Map (aka. Round) will be played for 1 week (see Schedule) on special servers, which are going to run 24/7.
You do not need to register beforehand to take part in XDWC!
You automatically join the tournament by setting a time on one of the servers listed below.
You do not have to take part in every Round, you can join each Round seperately as you like it. However, you won't be able to submit a time for a round that has already passed.
Your best time in the server rankings will be your time for the Round. The time must be set on an official server (see the list below)! You can NOT run a map locally and submit a time.
Weapon projectiles may not affect any runs other than the one they were fired in. Violating this rule makes your run invalid.
By joining the tournament you agree that we store your username and your results in our databases.
Points calculation formula: SCORE = 1000 * (time_of_the_fastest_competitor/your_time) * 0.988 ^ (pos - 1)

We proudly present you the Xonotic Defrag World Championship 2022! XDWC is a CTS tournament where we invite everyone to join and have some fun.

FAQ

What is Defrag?
In Xonotic it is played in the CTS (Complete the Stage) mode using the XDF physics set. The goal is to complete a map as fast as possible.

How does XDWC work? (detailed rules further down below)
