Time for Racember!
The good thing is everyone is able to participate, no matter where you are, because you can do it locally.

This time its race again, but with 5 maps!

The first map is stormkepprace.

The second map is warfarerace. Pinkrobot made this adaption back in 2008 and i updated it for Xonotic.

The third map is Slalom made by FruitieX.

The next map is Streetrace by Pinkrobot, which is retextured for the race challenge.

The last map is darkzonerace. I applied the old sheme from div0 and FruitieX to darkzone whit new visuals.

Goal:
Complete the map as fast as possible!

Rules:
- 0.5 physics only
- the fastest player has to make a demo or video to show off how he done it (so everyone gets a clue how to play that map)

Racing with vehicles could be fun, too, but I think there are games dedicated to this kind of stuff that sort of handle the racing aspect better than Xonotic (Trackmania comes to mind).

So I start off with:

Just to kick off the competition.

Hahah nice, so I gotta re-run ALL maps immediately. Well, did expect to have to do that at some point anyway, I just spent a total of 40 minutes for the times above Didn't expect to have ALL times to be beaten that soon! Kicking off competition seems to have worked well!

warfarerace -17.20. I will have to go on your server, cause I see it improoves time.

Map done without laser edit

Did 14.87 on Warfarerace and 21.75 on Stormkeep. I don't know about Warfare but Stormkeep probably can be done much faster. Anyone tried with RL? It's annoying to waste a lap just to grab it, but maybe it could help.

Did 8.38 on Slalom but that seemed like a fluke more than anything, hopefully somebody does better because I didn't take screen shot or note a demo so I'd say it shouldn't count.

Darkzone I keep hitting my head on lamps and other stuff. It's to the point it's almost as frustrating as hitting my head on lamps in real life. So I got too frustrated before I could get a good time =(

Have not tried Streetrace.

This month's challenge made me remember why I generally dislike race, and I officially take myself out before I turn into "angry german kid" and punch my computer in the face. I enjoy watching other people's runs however, so good luck everyone and looking forward to see some videos of the best runs!

Slalom temporary update: 08:05

Justin, maybe you have overlooked a trick to do the map faster. If you race through it at highest possible speed, you'll die from hitting the wall at respawn. If you manage to hit the teleporter at lower speed, you won't - and might get a faster start off :o)

Edit: I do "map slalom" in console in 0.5 Xonotic - I just found out that the map shows up as Race CTS in the create server tab, not as "Race". Do I run it at the right physics settings then?

I don't get how you guys do this. I need like 60 tries for reaching 700+ qu/s for entering the challenge already and making the jump over the jumppad with laser right... *sigh*

What i cant get is the streetrace thingy. No improvement for me in there. And at Racechallengeserver someone did a 23:16 iirc.

And Stormkeep ~19.5 secs. Justin - Thats just insane.
