Linux version 0.6.0 - without curl / libcurl the maps don't auto download.

There's an error message in the dialogue when download fails but the user may only see a black blank map; and even if they see it they might not understand. Perhaps add an obvious alert to encourage users to install libcurl / curl, if the map download fails for it not being avaliable. Also up frout in the download page perhaps suggest its needed too.

Good point. Unlike many other dependencies that get checked and reported on startup this one isn't. Had a search through the logs and there isn't even any message for libcurl being found or not.

Go ahead, don't be shy, add that bug to the tracker!
