I have now added a second Central/East Coast server to use for NA Duel Cups, so this cup shouldn't take as long as the previous one did.

It's the same format for maps as the last one, which was hosted by Mirio. Vote on the maps that you want to play, top 3 maps will be in the pool.

Quick facts:
- 1v1 Duel (XPM)
- Servers: Atlanta + Chicago Smokehouse
- Timelimit 10, no Fraglimit
- Modus: Double Elimination bracket
- Mappicking: Drop-Drop at Bo1, Pick-Pick at Bo3
- Mappool: Aerowalk, Fuse, Bloodrun.
- Date/time: Saturday, 7th September 2013, 2:30 PM EDT [UTC-4] // 20:30 CEST [UTC+2]
- Admins: srkdy
- Skill level: any

Just join #smokebreak (IRC QuakeNet) at the given date if you want to participate. No registration somewhere needed!

Of course EU players can participate.

I will play, however: I'm forcing Bloodprison to be selected as one of the maps. It's for a good cause, we want to know if the map is good to work on for default Xonotic and it would be good to test it out in Xonotic gameplay in the first place.

Oh, really? In that case, I retract that restriction and request some demos of bloodprison duels from the quickcup friday

As requested, here are two of my demos on bloodprison of the Xonotic QC#46.

Demo 1: Debugger vs Mirio, upper brackets semi finals: map 2/3: Bloodprison
Demo 2: Debugger vs specialone, lower brackets semi finals: map 1/2: Bloodprison

As I said on IRC already, for me the map feels too small (not only due to its warpzone) for the physics; or maybe the physics are too fast. Anyway, the map turns out to be very fast paced and is difficult to play when one is out of control. Situations are very luck-dependent, often fights are very random and you happen to run into your opponent too fast due to the high playerspeed.

I will try to be there. I'm really busy with work and school right now though which is why i haven't been on at all lately

The map vote resulted in a tie for third map with Aerowalk/Stormkeep garnering 5 votes each. I have chosen to break the tie with a coin flip, which I recorded and posted to youtube (in the interest of transparency ).
