Full Version: Idea: records screen

Servers capture certain statistics about historical game play for a given map. For example, shortly after capping you can see your time vs. the fastest recorded (something like "Antibody captured the flag in 5s, which fails to break mit_pcl's record of .01s"). It would be nice to have a "records" screen where all of the records for a given map could be displayed easily on a server.

Examples:

Fastest cap | <player name> | <time>
Most FCKills | <player name> | <number>
Most frags | <player name> | <number>
Biggest frag combo | <player name> | <number>
Etc etc...

Just like the scoreboard, this screen could appear when you press a key when in spectator mode (and in gameplay?).

Thoughts?
I think this should appear with the Stats @ the TAB-Key!
Maybe sorted in: "always" and "this match"
No more room in tab key.
Would be an interesting feature, especially if paired with personal records. Personal records could be stored on the client side, so people can easily see if their cap record is faster than the cap record on this map on this server.
Maybe when holding TAB key and pressing Shift or a sign on the TAB-key page
Yes! I like the personal thing, too! <3
but it should be categorized in "always" and "this match" , too!
Shall I create a feature request? The key assignment isn't the sticking point here.
CTF capture time was removed because it encouraged bad gameplay... It will need a good reason to bring it back I think Tongue
...hmm...a good reason...eh...maybe because I like it Big Grin
...maybe not good enough Confused
I need a bit more context. What exactly was the "bad gameplay" that came from showing/keeping records?
There's a record keeping system on the XPM servers - each map shows you the top 15 run times and the all-time fastest speed award.

Maybe this could be modified for other gametypes?
Another very nice idea Big Grin

But all servers need to be synchroned...
