Personally, I think keyboard and mouse is the best mainstream precise control method for all FPS's. I don't see the point in porting Xonotic or Nexuiz to an iPad. Though I'm willing to try it if somebody does port it. I just don't think it will compare.

However, does anyone remember the Metroid Prime Hunters on the DS console back in '06?
Ignoring the unexpectedely impressive graphics for a DS game at the time, the gameplay for the FPS was the best out of any non-keyboard/mouse console I'd played at the time.
You had the up/down/left/right arrows and used the touchscreen below the mainscreen as a kind of mousemat with which to control the aim.
