Hello,
Is there a console command that lets you change the weapon position? I'm not referring to the options menu. In the Quake games, there are commands like "cg_gunx/y/z" that you could use.
I prefer middle shots, but the middle weapon model option is too large. Turning off weapon models can be confusing since there are only four ammo types in Xonotic.

Hello,
I recently found out about Xonotic. I’m not very skilled at blaster jumping, grappling, or some of the more advanced techniques that aren’t common in single-player modes. How tough is the gaming environment? Other than the obvious fact that everyone is out to get you, of course.

Depends what mode you're playing. In Duel, you're gonna get beaten up and no mercy shown (probably, some people go easy or try to help). In deathmatch you'll be able to get some kills, and quickly go from bottom to middle of the leaderboard. In Clan Arena you'll be fine, because it's impossible to be a detriment to your team there!
Play and have fun, you'll improve fast.
