More "Clean White/Black" Maps - Friskydingo - 09-26-2010 Hello, friends! I have been going through our new maps for Xonotic, and the more I see, the more I like it! However, I realized this: if we are in a futuristic game, why don't we have many futuristic-looking maps? Most of our maps are wonderful, but are almost completely textured in grayish metal. The only map that I saw that (in my opinion) was going in the right direction was Facility 114 by Oblivion, but that was never released! Don't get me wrong, I feel that the current Xonotic maps are absolutely, inexplicably STUNNING! I just wish we could have more clean, white/black maps like this. I just wanted to get that message across... sorry for ranting on about it. ![]() EDIT: I would map some levels like these myself, but I don't know how. ![]() RE: More "Clean White/Black" Maps - jaykay - 09-27-2010 hi, there are two more maps with the textures from facility114: oxygenellipsiod: http://forums.xonotic.org/showthread.php?tid=431 and apokalypse: http://forums.xonotic.org/showthread.php?tid=393 but they are not included in xonotic. RE: More "Clean White/Black" Maps - Roanoke - 09-27-2010 Also Valentine114, an almost finished concept by me. I'm occupied with other things (and if I wasn't, my LSP retexture is my primary concern right now), but if anyone wants to finish it off they should go for it (branch plasmasheep/valentine114). RE: More "Clean White/Black" Maps - Spyz - 10-15-2010 I agree with Frisky, Oblivion's map is one heck of a looker. Reminds me of Mirror's Edge (and I love that game). But then wouldn't it be a double edged sword if too many maps look the same? It would get a bit boring. I guess level 'genre' selection could work? If a user wants to play either classic maps with a slightly different look or futuristic maps etc.. Just my 2 euro cents ![]() |
